About the Hermanus Golf Course

About Hermanus Golf Course

Situated in the quiet suburb of Eastcliff, the Hermanus Golf Club has spectacular views of the mountains. It is a private golf course, with a well-appointed clubhouse and friendly staff. Indigenous Cape fynbos is found throughout the course, with trees providing comfortable shade as you negotiate the intricacies of the course.

The development of the Hermanus Golf Estate was approved in September 2003 and is nearing completion. With an additional 9 holes, this soon-to-be 27-hole championship course will offer keen golfers a beautiful yet challenging round of golf. The course was designed by Matkovich and Hayes.

Hermanus Golf Club is an extremely popular course, with its views as well as wildlife, and is considered by many as a “must play” course. The rolling fairways and excellent clubhouse facilities are nestled between the mountains and the sea. The course is unique in that golfers can watch whales before a game and maybe spot a baboon while teeing off, which guarantees an unforgettable golfing experience.

The club has the following: an elegant bar, graded caddies, clubs for hire, Halfway House, locker facilities, practice facilities, pro shop, restaurant and shower facilities. Golf Union and Home Club membership cards are required. This is a soft spike only course and appropriate golf attire must be worn.

How to get there:
From Cape Town: follow the N2 towards George, past Grabouw. Take the R43 turn-off at Bot River and drive about 30 km until you reach Hermanus. The club is situated along the Main Road and just follow the signs.
